Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian film actress and model, known for her works in Telugu and Tamil film industies. She has started modeling during her late teens. She made her tollywood debut with the romantic film "Ye Maaya Chesave". She became the second actress after Revathi to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress in the same year, for films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega. Her latest released movie is 24. Samantha will soon be seen in four upcoming Telugu movies.

Biography
Samantha was born on 28 April 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She has completed her schooling from St.Stephens Matriculation school, Chennai and did her Higher secondary in Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar. She has done her graduation in commerce from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She has endorsed various brands like Chik Shampoo, Gokul Sandiva, Big C Mobiles, Saravana Stores and recently signed for Lux ad. She is associated with a campaign supporting the children suffering from the disease Hemophilia, since October 2012.

Family
Samantha was born to a Telugu father Prabhu and a Malayali mother, Ninette Prabhu. She was raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu so became fluent in Tamil language. Apart from mixed regional background, she sees herself as a Tamilian because she has grown up speaking Tamil and English at home.



Upcoming movies
Samantha has four Telugu upcoming films in her hands. The movie titled 'A...Aa' has came with a tag line 'Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari', is being directed by Trivikram. It features Nithiin and Samantha in lead roles. It will be released on 27 May.

The huge film 'Brahmotsavam' is being directed by Srikanth Addala features Mahesh Babu, Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Pranitha Subhash in lead roles. It will be released on 20 May.

Samantha's third movie is with once again with jr NTR titled as 'Janatha Garage'. It is being directed by Koratala Siva and will be released on August 12.

'Rudraksha' is the upcoming film which will be directed by Krishna Vamsi. Baahubali actress Ramya Krishna will also be seen in the movie. It will be the most expensive film in Krishna Vamsi's career. The movie is likely to go on the floors in May or June.



Boyfriend/Dating
As per the sources, Samantha is deeply in love with a guy, whose name is not yet revealed. In an interview she said that, "We are going very strong and I am very happy". She refused to reveal the person's identity. Samantha has hinted that she would retire from acting and concentrate on something else in near future. She has also said that post marriage she will not make comeback to acting.

Career
Samantha made her Tollywood debut with Gautham Menon's film, Ye Maaya Chesave opposite Naga Chaitanya. Upon release she received positive reviews for her portrayal, with film also garnering much critical acclaim. Her next release in Telugu is Brindaavanam alongside NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. She is best known for playing opposite super stars of Tellywood. Her film Dookudu alongside Mahesh Babu, was a blockbuster.

Samantha has made her bollywood debut with the film Ekk Deewana Tha in a cameo appearance. In 2013, she appeared in the film Attarintiki Daredi, opposite Pawan Kalyan, which earned her SIIMA award for Best Actress - Telugu. She was last seen in the film S/O Satyamurthy.
